Our Leadership

At North Star UMC, we have a desire to serve in a variety of ways - through teaching, discipling, Sunday school, and through our Food Pantry.  

Rev. Laura P. Skiba

Pastor Laura came to North Star UMC in July of 2004 from the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference.  We "borrow" pastors from United Methodist Conferences throughout the Lower 48 states.  Her husband, Kevin, and children, Sawyer, Kathryn, and Nicholas, have settled well into Nikiski as well as into North Star UMC.  Pastor Laura and Kevin also have three older children who live in Pennsylvania - Justin, Maggie, and Tyler.

Nick Sacaloff, Lay Delegate to Annual Conference    Janice Nightingale, Lay Leader

Nick is North Star UMCs Lay Delegate to Annual Conference and in that role represents the church at Conference and Regional meetings and events.  Nick fills the pulpit when ask    Janice is North Star UMCs Lay Leader, which means that she works with the pastor and Lay Delegate to provide leadership and vision for the church.  She also fills the pulpit or helps out in worship and communication when Pastor Laura is away.
